Social local search platform Mojostreet opens up for global market; Introduces new features

Mojostreet is a social local search platform that helps users discover places nearby. This Hyderabad based startup was focusing on local markets till now but has now planned to explore global avenues with its revamped version. Making the announcement, Kalyan Manyam, Co-founder, Mojostreet, said, “This marks the official entry of Mojostreet into the Global markets. The new revamped version will provide users with amazing social and in-depth search experience for finding the best local businesses in their city.”

Having raised $350k when it was in stealth mode, Mojostreet has been going strong and had recently teamed up with the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation to implement their technology. The new global launch is also marked by the introduction of “Ask a friend” feature which will enable users to quickly ask a question about a specific place and get instant responses from friends who have visited that place before.

Mojostreet has also introduced “Search Filters” - A feature that will help users find places of interest. The filters have been enabled across categories including Food & Beverage, Shopping, Entertainment, Fitness/ Personal care and Travel.

"With this launch, the local search experience will be seamless across Mojostreet’s Mobile App, Web and WAP properties," says Kalyan. Mojostreet will be using its proprietary auto location detection technology and social recommendation engine for recommendations.

Mojostreet is currently available for iPhone, Android, Blackberry and Windows smartphones. The web version can be accessed here.
