As we are gearing up for TechSparks 2014, applications for TECH30 have started pouring in in overwhelming numbers. Some really exciting products with exceptional use of technology and world class innovation are being in various corners of India. But when we walk down memory lane, we see some insanely awesome startups that were a part of previous editions like in 2010, 2011, 2012. Here’s a list of the world changing startups from the TechSparks 2013 edition.

Growth Post TechSparks: Got backed by Sillicon Valley’s leading fund The Hive, won the Startup Beacon Zinnov award at Confluence 2014, amongst finalists in Large Enterprises solution category in Microsoft`s code for honor award in 2014, winner of TiECon 2014

Founded in 2012, Flutura is a niche Big Data analytics solutions company with a vision to transform operational outcomes by monetizing machine data. It does so by triangulating economic impactful signals from fragmented data pools. Flutura offers two products – Cerebra Signal Studio, Cerebra ROVi for Industries in Oil & Gas, Utilities, Smart Buildings and Heavy Industries sectors.

Crayon Data

Growth Post TechSparks:  Raised $1.2M from Jungle Ventures, finalist in Code_n Awards in Europe’s largest technology showcase CEBIT-2014, winner of TiE Silicon Valley’s TiE 50 Awards, finalist at IBM’s Watson Mobile Developer Challenge

Founded in 2012, Crayon Data is focused on simplifying big data by providing clarity and simplicity in choice. Crayon Data believes that existing providers and technology approaches are vested in complexity. Crayons’ SimplerChoices (B2C and B2B) is a Choice Engine that brings the power of big data and analytics to enterprises in an easy to use and off-the-shelf solution.

Airwoot

Founders: Achal Aggarwal, Prabhat Saraswat, Saurabh Arora

Growth Post TechSparks: Raised funding from KAE Capital and Angels

Founded in 2012, Memetic Labs is a New Delhi based startup that has developed a social customer support product called Airwoot founded by two Ph.D dropouts  who were aiming for a moonshot and then later added their third co-founder. Airwoot was part of the 8th batch of Morpheus Accelerator program. Airwoot aims to provide a realtime snapshot of the social stream from across media relating to your brand enabling a much better real time interaction and customer support. It also offers Barometer, which is a real-time infographic to gauge a brand’s social customer care practices.

2mpower Health Management Services Pvt. Ltd

Founders: Mohammed Hussain Naseem, Murtaza Beawerwala, Sreejith AC, Sourav Sipani

Growth Post TechSparks: Raised an undisclosed amount from former Infosys director TV Mohandas Pai invested in GetActive

Founded in 2012, 2mpower Health Management Services’ GetActive, was born after three years of intensive research from people with more than 300 man years of experience in wellness, disease management, information technology, motion sensor applications and behaviour psychology. CEO Naseem was former VP and head of healthcare business at IBM.

Mad Street Den

Founders: Anand Chandrasekaran, Ashwini Asokan

Growth Post TechSparks: Launched Mad Stack for Developers

Founded in 2013, Mad Street Den is here to make machines more useful by making them a bit more human: fun, intelligent and relevant. They will sense as babies, observe and play as youngsters, learn and change with you as they grow older. Mad (Mind Abled Devices) dabbles in artificial intelligence. Mad Street Den’s goal is to bring computer vision to every device from high end displays to low end smartphones using it’s cloud based machine learning platform.

CloudMunch

Founders: Prasanna Raghavendra, Pradeep Prabhu

Growth Post TechSparks: Microsoft has entered into a partnership with CloudMunch to enable Azure apps to go live faster and at lower costs

Founded in 2011, CloudMunch is democratizing DevOps by providing a powerful, extensible, full stack platform to make continuous delivery of applications & infrastructure, fast & easy. The firm promises a 40% reduction in costs and at least 30% reduction in time to market. The founding team with extensive experience at Infosys, brings a solid understanding of cloud into the building of this product.

kPoint Technologies

Founders: Sunil Gaitonde, Dr. Shridhar Shukla, Atul Narkhede

Growth Post TechSparks: TiE50 2014 awards finalist, Zinnov Confluence 2014 startup beacon award, SIIA Software CODIE Awards 2014 for best video solution

kPoint enhances customer experience with discoverable videos that can be used in sales enablement, training and customer support. Founded in 2013, kPoint provides B2B solution in India with clients in the technical and manufacturing domain (e.g. Cognizant in tech and Kirloskar in manufacturing). The product is targeted towards companies that offer training to their employees and the clear mandate was to improve the internal know how within a company.
