Most of the youth today is living in a new city, coping with a new job, planning higher studies, or running their own startup. Managing things by yourself is a difficult and time-consuming task. The lists of things to do are seemingly endless. You need to manage daily expenses, save money, invest it, work schedules, monitor employee performances, the list goes on. What if we tell you that there are tons of apps out there to automate your tasks? And not just the things mentioned above, but also the little things.

Imagine how much time can be saved each day by automating redundant activities. This time can be utilised to focus on higher life goals and do things which you really want to. Here is a list of things that can be automated:

Updating your contacts

We all have that friend who constantly changes their number. If you have such a friend and you’ve lost track of their current number, there are apps like Addappt that update this information directly into the name book.

Organising your messages

These days, people have a multi-platform presence – two to three email IDs, multiple social media accounts, and another couple of messenger apps. Pushover is an app that organises all important messages in one unified box. It saves you the hassle and time of having to scan all your different apps.

Backing up data

Data is the new oil, so we have heard. Be it personal or corporate, every bit of data is just too important to miss. People keep postponing data backup as it feels like a manual job that demands hours of time and effort. However, Dropbox, Carbonite, and many such cloud-based services can automatically backup files on a periodic basis.

Sending emails

Emails were a revolution in their own right, but even the latest automations can leave you wondering what comes next. Now, using services like Mailchimp and Boomerang, you can schedule emails, follow-up automatically, and format at your convenience.

Managing social media posts

Platforms like IFTTT let you automatically post and retweet. It allows you to manage a dozen social media accounts from a single place. You can even check statistics like ‘reach’, ‘seen’, and how many are talking about it. Publishing content was never this easy!

Travel planning

Once upon a time, traveling was considered such a hassle, what with the ticket booking, hotel booking, local conveyance, and more. Then with the advent of apps, it became easy. Apps like TripIt help you manage your itinerary regardless of the different platforms used to book your flight or hotel. All you need is to send travel-related emails to it, and it will arrange everything for you. If you are a Google fan and use Google Now, it automatically reads your emails and creates a master itinerary for you.

Since time is a precious asset in this fast-paced life, why waste time on simple, routine things. Technology has made life simpler than we can ever imagine. How many of these solutions had you heard of before?
