Haryana's mobile app to help public complain about unclean surroundings
The Haryana government has launched a mobile app in urban areas to enable residents to complain about unclean surroundings and suitable action thereafter by local authorities.
The mobile app service has been launched under the Swachh Bharat Mission to address cleanliness issues in areas falling under all municipal corporations, municipalities and municipal committees in Haryana.
If you are residing in any urban area of Haryana and find your surroundings unclean or littered with garbage, click a picture and post it directly on the Swachh Map mobile application, and you will get your complaint redressed in a fixed time period," a State government spokesman said on Tuesday.
"Apart from the State government, details of State-level complaints will be sent to the Central government's Swachh Bharat Mission office, through this app. It will increase the accountability of officials and officers concerned. The residents will have a great role to play in Swachh Map app," he added.

In Gurugram, adjoining the national capital, residents can call a toll free number 1800025952 regarding garbage in their areas and the complaints would be redressed within 24 hours.
The Swachh Bharat Mission was launched two years ago on the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The mission, launched by India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was divided into two parts — urban and rural. The Swachh Bharat Mission Urban is managed by the Ministry of Urban Development, while the Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin (Rural) is led by the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation.
